Since 2023, the journal has switched to an open access policy and received a digital doi identifier.

This year, "Bulletin of Moscow University. Series 12. Political Science has switched to the open access policy provided for by the Budapest Open Access Initiative. Articles are published under the Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial (CC BY-NC) license. This means that the journal's publications are available for free reading. They can be used provided that the authorship is indicated and the integrity of the work is preserved, but not for commercial purposes. The editorial board of the journal will post articles on the official website of the publication immediately after their publication. In addition, starting with the first issue for 2023, all articles are assigned a digital DOI identifier.
